I'm a researcher and freelance essay writer. I come from Bombay and live, of course, in Brooklyn. My published writing, available on this site, covers literature, history, art and architecture, women, cities, politics, and culture. I have an M.A. from NYU Journalism's cultural reporting and criticism program. I am a reporter-researcher at The New Republic, a writer and editor for Nearpod, an interactive learning company, and a former Andrew Mellon Editorial Fellow at Lapham's Quarterly. I also work as an assistant to author and journalist Gay Talese.
